According to news from China Telecom’s official website on July 8, China Telecom’s 2021 5G national secret NFC card centralized procurement project has been approved, with an estimated purchase of 10 million.
China Telecom pointed out that the bid products should be mature and stable products. The 5G national secret NFC card chip should have a legal and valid national information security product certification, and the certification level should not be lower than EAL4+; the 5G national secret NFC card chip should pass the EMVCo security certification or Passed UnionPay chip card integrated circuit safety test.
At the same time, the National Secret NFC card chip needs to pass the National Secret Level 2 (inclusive) certification, supports RSA (2048), ECC, DES, AES coprocessors, and needs to have a coprocessor that generates true random numbers and is resistant to physical attacks. ability.
In 2020, China Telecom released the "5G SA Security Enhancement SIM Card White Paper" (hereinafter referred to as the "White Paper"), which was misunderstood as users using 5G services or needing to replace their SIM cards. China Telecom immediately responded that existing 4G users do not need to change their cards, as long as they change to 5G mobile phones, they can use 5G services in areas covered by 5G signals.
The 5G security enhancement card will be mainly oriented to application scenarios with higher security requirements, such as smart manufacturing, Internet of Vehicles, telemedicine, smart city industry applications and other fields. The "White Paper" believes that based on the 5G development strategy and the characteristics of 5G networks, a new 5G SA security enhanced SIM card is needed to realize new features including user identity privacy protection, and provide security for user data and business applications, which will help Operators develop third-party mobile application services.
